Barrier invests over EUR 5 mln in uPVC profiles factory in Bacau

Romanian uPVC profiles manufacturer Barrier has invested more than EUR 5 million in a production unit in Bacau, eastern Romania, that took two and half years to build. The new production unit has a capacity of 700 uPVC profiles (windows) per day and it employs 200 people.
The investment is the result of increased demand for the company’s products, said Adrian Garmacea, Barrier’s general director.
Barrier products are available countrywide through a network of 300 partner distributors and are also exported in countries Italy, France, Belgium and Germany. There are plans to expand exports to the UK, the Netherlands and Spain.
The Barrier brand is owned by Romanian company Electric Plus. The company started production in 2003.
