Two of the new routes are domestic, to Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca. The other three routes are international: to Paris (Beauvais), Cologne, and Munich.

Thus, starting October 1,  Blue Air will fly to 13 destinations from its base in Bacau.

The airline will expand its operations in Moldova by allocating three aircraft to its Bacau base.

„By allocating three aircraft to our base in Bacau, we are consolidating our leading position at Bacau Airport and expanding our operations with five new domestic and international routes,” said Blue Air CEO Oana Petrescu.

The company’s announcement at a time when it’s struggling with financial problems due to canceled flights amid the COVID-19 pandemic and travel restrictions.

The Government announced it would offer Blue Air and state-owned Tarom guarantees for working capital loans to help them continue operations.
